Piercings
Piercings are beautiful, and do make anyone look even more gorgeous but, you need to take care of them properly. There are many different types of piercings, there are several ear piercings, for example, a tragus piercing, a helix piercing, a lobe piercing and many more. Also body piercings like nose piercing and belly button piercing.
Even though body piercings are not as permanent as tattoos, you still want to take some care when deciding where and how to get pierced. There are many things to consider before getting a piercing, make sure you eat something before going, make sure you know the difference between a gun and a needle, make sure you go to a well-reviewed place and one you know is safe and that you can trust, and make sure you know what type of piercing you can wear.
Tip 1 – to take care of a new piercing
Check your pillowcase. Pillowcases have a lot to do with keeping piercings clean, so a good tip is to put a t-shirt over your pillow for a few days after getting it pierced, making sure the t-shirt is clean to make no dirt gets into the piercing.
Another is flip the pillow to the clean side before lying down. If you flip the pillow over onto the new side, there should be no bacteria on it, keeping your ear clean and making sure again, that no dirt gets into it, but I prefer the t-shirt trick.
A final one is a silk pillowcase. Iver never tried this one personally, so I don’t know if it’s effective, but from what I’ve heard, it can be. If you use a silk pillowcase, they are meant to stay clean for longer, keeping bacteria out of the fresh piercing.
Tip 2 – to take care of a new piercing
Clean it regularly.
There are many things you can use to clean a fresh piercing with. One of my favourites is salt water. Boil some water in a kettle, getting rid of any bacteria in your water, and add 5ml-10ml of rock salt or sea salt to your water. Allow the water to cool down a bit avoiding burns. soak a bit of cotton wool in the salt water, and gently clean your piercing with it.
Another way to clean your piercing is Tea Tree oil. Either apply a few drops of tea tree oil onto a cotton wool pad or a cotton bud and gently clean in and around the piercing making sure you get everywhere, or you can just apply drops of oil straight onto the piercing, and gently massage in with your clean finger.
Tip 3 – to take care of a new piercing
Hair! I cannot stress enough how careful you have to be when it comes to the hair near a new piercing. Brushing it, styling it, washing it or even just tucking it behind your ear. This is more for ear piercings than anywhere else but it is still important.
A piercing, especially an ear, can get caught in the hair and ripped out easily causing pain and damage. A hairbrush or hair styler can hit off a new piercing and damage it, again causing great pain.
Overall piercing
Piercings are a great, stylish thing that can make anything look a lot cooler but as I said, you do need to be very careful with piercings, especially when they are fresh.
