Gossip girl, one of my all time favourite shows. It focus’s on the rich, popular group of the New York citizens, and how their life may seem ‘perfect’- when it is actually the opposite.
The show focuses on 4 main charecters- Blair Waldorf, a popular, perfect private school student who’s life seems like a dream, suddenly realises her life isn’t what it was made out to be when her ‘best friend’ returns from disappearing and secrets start to reveal.
Life suddenly becomes a lot harder when a mystery ‘gossip girl’ is a new mystery blogger in town sharing everyone’s private information, but that is a story for another time, we are going to focus on season 1 today.
Gossip Girl season 1 summary!

Privileged teens living on the Upper East Side of New York can hide no secret from the ruthless blogger who is always watching, Serena, a beautiful blond who suddenly returns after no explanation, who expects life with her best friend Blair, to go back to normal, only to find out Blair knows S’s darkest secret.
Nate, Blairs ‘true love’ is also part of S’s secret, but with his dads new found drug problem and him getting himself into a lot of trouble, may be his biggest issue at the moment. His head cannot chose what best friend he wants when feelings for S suddenly reappear, at the same time S does.
However, S may have a new love interest, Dan Humphrey, aka, lonely boy. But everyone’s biggest question is, will the popular, rich blond with a bad reputation work out with an innocent, lonely boy who lives in a loft in Brooklyn.
Chucks acting his usual self after he finds himself in a sticky situation, of being in love for the first time, however, with someone he should definitely not be in love with, however the booze, money and everything else he should not be associated with.
Dan who also has family issues going on when his mum suddenly leaves, but then also reappears later, at the worst timing possible.
Between all the parties and the diamonds, will the teenagers work out their problems and fight their battles? Without it being plastered all over gossip girl.
Gossip girl cast.
Blake Lively as Serena van der Woodsen, a student at the Constance Billard School for Girls. An it girl who frequently receives media attention. Blair is one of the gossip streams biggest target, and is best friends with B, even if it is a tad on and off.
Leighton Meester as Blair Waldorf, the popular girl of her school, who gets herself into many situation but stays strong through it all and for that we respect her! S comes back from bording school, and comes back to realise her life has been destroyed, and her deepest darkest secret is revealed.
Penn Badgley as Dan Humphrey, Dans dreams to be a writer is what keeps him going in this school, with people he particularly does not have much time for!
Ed Westwick as Chuck Bass, a student at St. Jude’s. Son of one of New York’s most successful real estate moguls. Decadent and amoral, Chuck is mainly interested in women and alcohol. Chuck is hated by many of gossip girls charecters, yet all of the shows viewers and fans seem to respect him, even though he has done some horrible things.
