halloumi burgers- method!
Step 1
The first step is to heat up our pan to prepare it for later. Heat up a griddle pan or if you are making this burger as part of a barbeque heat up your barbecue. Measure our your olive oil, and weigh out your mushrooms and brush only half of the oil over the mushrooms, and season them with salt and pepper. Pop your mushrooms in your heat up griddle pan or on your barbecue and let them cook for 6 to 8 minutes, make sure you keep turning and flipping them so that both sides are evenly cooked.
Step 2
Meanwhile, grab your remaining oil. Slice up your halloumi and brush over the remaining oil over your halloumi slices and cut-side of the brioche buns. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until lightly charred, then place to the side on a plate until it is needed.
Step 3
Next we are going to prepare our vegetables. Measure out and chop up your onion, tomato, cucumber and lettuce, put it all in a bowl and mix in the lime juice and the mint and mix it all through, and season well with salt and pepper.
Step 4
To assemble the burgers, put a mushroom on the bottom brioche half and spread over the hummus. Top with the sliced tomato, lettuce and halloumi. Spoon over the onion and tomato relish, sandwich with the brioche lid and eat straight away. That is your halloumi burger ready to be served!
