Valentines ribeye steak- step by step guide!
Step 1
Season meat liberally with salt and pepper on a plate.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a big cast-iron pan over medium-high heat until it’s very hot. Add the steak and cook for 6 to 7 minutes, or until a black crust forms on the bottom side. (To ensure the best stake, make sure your oil is sizzling hot before popping in your steak)
Step 3
Continue cooking the steak for another six minutes without turning it.
Step 4
Add the butter, garlic, thyme, and rosemary and lower the heat to medium-low. Cook the steak for a further five minutes or until it is medium-rare (about 120°), baste it with the butter in the bottom of the pan using a spoon, and flip it halfway through.
Step 5
Before slicing, transfer the steak to a cutting board and give it ten minutes to rest. Before serving, sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
Valentines ribeye steak- recipe tips!
- Warm up the pan. In order to get a nice caramelised sear, the oil and skillet must be quite hot. Take the steak out and let the skillet heat up a little further if you don’t hear a loud sizzle right away!
- In the final five minutes of cooking, brush the steak with butter. If you add the butter too soon, it will burn. It takes exactly the appropriate length of time to turn nutty and brown.
That is it! Once you cook your sides and prepare them, your valentines day ribeye steak dinner is complete and ready to be served!
